Auditions for the 2010-2011 Season in Early September 2010
Auditions have been scheduled - please see below for details. If you have any questions,
please send us an email at info@bbcboston.org,
or call us at 617-648-3885.
Monday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 8 from 7:00 until 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, September 12 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Marsh Chapel at Boston University, 735 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston (at the BU Central stop on the Boston College branch of the Green Line.)
A prepared piece is required.
Your prepared piece can be of any genre; please choose something you find
comfortable and that will give our music
director a chance to hear your voice. Please
bring three copies of the sheet music with you, one for the
accompanist (if the piece has accompaniment), one for the music director, and one for yourself.
You will also be asked to engage in additional singing and sight-reading.
Auditioners will be asked to recite a brief phrase in German. Proficiency is not required, but is
always helpful, given the amount of repertoire sung in this language.
Each audition takes about 10
minutes. Auditions are unscheduled and first-come, first-served; please
choose a convenient time.
Note: Our regular rehearsal evening during the year is
Monday, from 7PM until 10PM. Most of our rehearsals are held at Emmanuel Church, on Newbury Street in
Boston's Back Bay. Minimal exceptions to this schedule will be given at
the beginning of each concert rehearsal period.
